Miembros de las ONGS ASQUIMIEM y ASSOCIACIÓ OIKOS AMBIENTAL reclaman el principio de precaución y cautela sobre internet por wifi y redes inalámbricas en los centros de enseñanza de Cataluña en una reunión mantenida en la sede del Departamento de Enseñanza de la Generalitat de Cataluña .

El pasado 22 de Junio de 2011, miembros de las ONGS ASQUIMIEM y ASSOCIACIÓ OIKOS AMBIENTAL mantuvieron una reunión en la sede del Departamento de Enseñanza de la Generalitat de Cataluña , Vía Agusta, 202-226, Barcelona, con el Subdiretor General de Soporte a los Centros Públicos en Cataluña, con la Subdirectora de Equipamientos y con la Responsable de los Servicos de Soporte para pedir el principio de precaución y cautela en la implantación de los sistemas wifi y demás sistemas inalámbricos, DEC, teléfonos móviles..., en las aulas y recintos escolares.

Una petición con criterios de mucho peso para aplicar de inmediato el denominado principio de precaución y cautela , se facilitó un dossier y un CD con documentales que prometieron estudiar, en base a estudios y resoluciones previas a los dos últimos acontecimientos recientes , a saber:

1. La aprobación, el 27 de mayo, de la Resolución 1815 de la Asamblea Parlamentaria del Consejo de Europa sobre los peligros potenciales de los campos electromagnéticos y sus efectos en el medio ambiente. Las instituciones europeas, tras los informes de la Agencia Europea de Medio Ambiente y las resoluciones de 2008 y 2009 del Parlamento Europeo, vuelven a hacer un llamamiento a la aplicación urgente del Principio de Precaución, sobre todo en relación con las/os niñas/os y adolescentes. Entre otras cosas, en cualquier entorno, se recomienda el cableado en lugar del WiFi para conectarse a Internet, y en particular, en los centros escolares; se pide el reconocimiento sanitario, laboral y social de la electrohipersensibilidad (EHS); y se insta a los gobiernos a realizar campañas de información pública sobre los riesgos de los diversos dispositivos emisores de contaminación electromagnética.

2. La Agencia Internacional para la Investigación del Cáncer, organismo de la OMS para valorar los estudios científicos de posibles agentes cancerígenos, ha clasificado las radiaciones de microondas como posible cancerígeno del nivel 2B. Con ello se abre paso a posibles demandas judiciales y se acaba definitivamente con el mito promulgado por las operadoras de que estas radiaciones sean inofensivas. Por fin, la IARC/OMS nos alerta de que tanto la contaminación electromagnética de baja frecuencia (cancerígeno 2B desde el 2002) como la alta frecuencia de microondas son posibles agentes cancerígenos.

Una vez estudiado el dossier y su alternativa, el cable, los responsables se comprometieron a seguir en contacto con los representantes de las ONGS ASQUIMIEM y la ASSOCIACIO OIKOS AMBIENTAL.
